2-4-0 Steam loco with Tender– J.W. Bowker

 

This locomotive was delivered by the Baldwin Co in 1875 and giver the name of the rail engineer..

The locomotive, still functioning after a long running life on the V&T lines, it was bought by the “Pacific Coast Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society” . It was also in the Paramount Pictures film directed by Cecil Beaton. In 1938 the Bowker crossed the American continent to be shown at the World fair of  New York  "RaiIroads on Parade".

 This is a very accurate and well detailed model of the  American Locomotive 2-4-0 «J. W. BOWKER» of the  « Virginia & Truckee » company.

Produced but based on a Pocher  design, and also  sold under the Pocher brand name (probably before 1975).

 

It has been produced with motorised tender, and with motor mounted in the cabin, and various different finishing.
