DB BR 39 Steam Locomotive 1-4-1
Steam locomotive with tender, the BR 39 149 designated for passenger service for the "Deutsche Bundesbahn. Baurheie (class) 39 includes The Mikado-type locomotive, with a 1-4-1 alignment produced by various different works.
The original design and project for these locomotives was requested in 1922 by the "Prussian Railway 'and designated as the P 10. Over the years, including the dark days of the World War, which took its toll on many locomotives, thus when refurbishment of the remaining locomotives began after the war, substantial changes and improvements was undertaken.
Of many of the changes, some affected the external appearance. The replacement of the large smoke deflectors conveyors with smaller and of a more modern design and technically more efficient, These were the more evident modifications undertaken. The original tender (ie that of 39 127) was replaced with a the newer version with welded external steel plates. The model reproduced the 39 149:with gearing and Heusinger distribution, is fully functional.
Lanterns automatically change direction depending on direction of travel. The model can also run on low radius corners with a minimum of 360 mm.
