FS Electric Locomotive class E 424

Model of the Italian Bo-Bo type electric locomotive E 424 of the FS (Italian State Railways).This locomotive was first built in 1943 for light passenger and freight service. It can reach a speed of over 100 km/h, and is used almost on all the Italian electrified network, mainly on regional passenger duties. Operating headlights. Pantographs of FS type 42, later  type 52. Switch for overhead or track pickup (not on basic models).

Produced by Rivarossi from 1952 until 1981, featuring Rivarossi vertical-shaft motor with worm-screw. Three different moulds of the body have been produced: the first basic with smooth cab roofs, non-prototypical identical left and right sides (up to item 1448), the second improved with details on the cab roofs (from item1441), and the third prototypical with diversified sides (item 1467).
