Electric Locomotive FS E 428 (Third Series)

Model of the Italian Locomotive type E428 (3rd series) of the FS with fully aero dynamic driving cabs. The wheel arrangement is 2-Bo+Bo-2. The articulated underframe is in two halves, coupled by a ball joint. The model reproduces this articulation by means of a fixed coupling, rather than a ball joint. This locomotive was in charge of expresses until the late fifties, when it was displaced by the new class E 646. Operating headlights, depending on the running direction. Pantographs of FS type 32, later type 52. Switch for overhead or track pickup.

Length of the model cm. 22.

The FS used this particular livery to use while hauling local commuter trains, as the livery was identical to the one used on the carriages, thus standardizing the colour

Produced by Rivarossi from 1971 until  1986, featuring Rivarossi vertical-shaft motor with worm-screw. The last item (“Pirate”) featured a different cab side window, as well as shuttle grey livery with orange and violet stripes.
