Steam locomotive class  1-3-0 Gr. 623

 
Steam locomotive with tender, the GR 623 of FS, used  on freight trains and passenger service.
The locomotives of GR 625 F.S. were amongst the most successful, so successful that that their use was widespread over time. In around 1950 its use was seen still to be long term it was decided to render a number of them more economically viable by installing on a number of them the  Franco Crosti pre heaters. This application is made so that 25 has Walschaert distribution and 10 with Caprotti distribution, thus forming a new group designated as FS GR 623. The model reproduces the prototype 623-114 with Walschaert distribution.

The gearing is fully functioning and has operating front head lanterns.
