Steam locomotive class 1-4-1 Gr. 746
 

Steam locomotive with tender for passenger trains and freight, the FS GR. 746-048 of F. S.The growing weight of trains to be hauled prompted the Office of Studies of the FS to design in 1922 a new type of locomotive that could offer a high traction increased steam production. Thus the 746 Group was born, and made up of 48 units built in part by Breda and partly by the Ansaldo Company. The model reproduced is that of the prototype 746-048 with its large capacity tender.  Wheel alignment 1-4-1 "Mikado." And Walshaert distribution gearing, operational working head lamps, and a sprung front bogie which allows for smooth entry into corners at even high speeds.
